18 October 20:10
We are currently in attendance at a fire in a derelict Hotel in Sandown.
There are six fire engines, two water carriers and two aerial ladder platforms on scene. Crews from across the Island are in attendance (Shanklin, Ryde, Ventnor, Freshwater, East Cowes) plus Waterlooville from the mainland.
Main jets, hose reel jets, and the ALPs are being used to tackle the fire.
Residents in the area are advised to keep their doors and windows closed due to smoke and we ask that people avoid the area while we deal with this incident.
