How to contact usSafeguarding is the activity taken to protect a person’s right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect.
It involves people and organisations working together to prevent and stop both the risks and experience of abuse or neglect, while at the same time making sure that a child or adult’s health, safety and wellbeing is promoted.
We adopt a “zero tolerance” approach to all forms of abuse or neglect. The effective Safeguarding of both our communities and staff within Hampshire and the Isle of Wight is an integral part of our organisation.
We ensure that appropriate procedures are in place to safeguard and promote the safety of all vulnerable children, young people and adults at risk.
Our robust safeguarding reporting procedures ensure that all safeguarding matters are dealt with as a matter of urgency so that an appropriate and proportionate safeguarding response can be made to protect the individual at risk.
We work in partnership with a variety of other agencies across Hampshire, Southampton and IOW areas to provide a multi-agency response to reducing risk. We also have a dedicated Safeguarding Lead who provides support internally and to our partner agencies in response to incidents and safeguarding concerns.
There are many different types of abuse and safeguarding concerns that can affect individuals. Some examples are: self-neglect, domestic abuse, financial abuse, modern slavery and hoarding but this list does not cover everything. We’ve included a list of support services below.
