If you are concerned about someone who might be at risk and would benefit from fire safety advice, you can make a Safe & Well referral.
Safe and Well is a free home fire safety visit, tailored to an individual’s needs that can support members of our community to help protect them and their home from fire. We focus our visits on the most vulnerable people in our community.
If you are interested in booking a fire safety workshop from our School’s Education Team, please complete the booking form.
If you are interested in a ‘Meet the Firefighter’ show and tell visit to your pre-school or Nursey setting, you can request a visit.
If you are a Community Group (Scouting/Guiding/Uniformed Youth Groups and other young people community group) interested in a visit to your local station to support your work with these young people please request a visit.

Are you 13-17 years old and interested in joining one of our Fire Cadet Units? Fire Cadets provides fun and challenging opportunities for young people to reach their full potential contributing to safer, stronger and healthier communities. They meet for two hours, one evening per week at a local fire station, during school term time.
The free 12-week course is available for 16-25-year-olds who are unemployed and not in education or training. The course offers young people the chance to build confidence through a residential week away, team challenges, work experience placement, and community project.
If you are worried about a young person who has set a fire or who shows an unhealthy interest in fire you can refer them through the Firewise Education programme.
Our Early Intervention Programme aims to support young people in developing resilience, positively having and impact on their community, achieving their goals and keeping themselves and others safe.

Whilst we’d like to offer visits to all Hampshire and Isle of Wight residents, unfortunately we aren’t able to.
Instead, we focus our visits on the most vulnerable people in our community.
To make a referral or see if you qualify for a visit, please fill out our Safe and Well referral form.
If you or the occupier are not eligible for a Safe and Well Visit (home safety visit), please complete the free Home Fire Safety Check. You’ll be left with personalised advice you can download and adopt.
Unfortunately, we do not offer this service, we would recommend seeking out a private company that offers this training.
For Fire Warden training we would suggest considering 3sFire.
We do offer Free Fire Safety Workshops.
We offer local school and college students work placements of up to 5 days. We have a limited number of spaces and can only accept young people who have applied through the Children and Young People Team.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept donations of car seats or motorcycle helmets but thank you for thinking of us.
For vehicles, we cannot accept donations via the public; however, we do accept them via a company called Silverlake. If you were to scrap with them, you can request it is donated to the fire service.
Unfortunately, this is not a service we can provide.
Unfortunately, we do not send out memorabilia (e.g. patches, old fire hoses), and we do not gift or loan any firefighting kit or equipment to members of the public or former members of staff.
Unfortunately, due to the service vehicles being operational, we are unable to provide them for events like Proms or Birthday parties.
There are many private operators with fire engines that you can hire for these types of events.
We do not take fire extinguishers for training purposes.
To safely dispose of a fire extinguisher, we recommend contacting your local recycling center and/or the manufacturer for advice on how to dispose of them safely.
