Firefighters tackle boat fire at Gilkicker Point

The fire is now out and a stop message was received at 13:50.

Around 20 firefighters, supported by HM Coastguard, extinguished the blaze which fully destroyed the boat. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Initial incident details:

Firefighters are currently tackling a fire involving a boat at Gilkicker Point, Gosport.

Crews from Fareham, Gosport, Cosham, Havant and Eastleigh were alerted at 12:10 when around multiple 999 calls were made into the HIWFRS Control Room.

Members of the public are asked to avoid the area due to the number of emergency services vehicles on the scene.
