This Statement seeks to provide an accessible way in which communities, central government, local authorities, and other partners gain assurance of our Fire and Rescue Authority’s performance for the financial year 2023/24. It aims to provide assurance that the Authority is meeting the priorities it has set itself in the Safety Plan 2020-2025. The publishing of the Annual Assurance Statement is a requirement of the Fire and Rescue National Framework for England 2018. The HIWFRA annual assurance statement is structured to describe the assurance mechanisms in place in support of our five Safety Plan priorities: Our Communities, Our People, Public Value, High Performance and Learning and Improving.

We are developing the 2025-2030 Safety Plan, outlining our proposals for the next five years to ensure a high-quality service for Hampshire & Isle of Wight. We welcome your feedback on the draft to ensure we're meeting community needs.

The provisions provide a new prescriptive framework for data publication of trade union duties and activities, which is included in Schedule 2 of The Trade Union (Facility Time Publication Requirements) Regulations 2017.
