Role: Early Intervention & FireWise Practitioner
What is your role?
I work with children and young people to improve their understanding of fire safety, develop better decision-making skills and reduce fire-related risk. I deliver FireWise interventions and The King’s Trust Award in Developing Resilience, helping young people build confidence, resilience and positive life skills.
What inspires you to work with young people?
Young people need safe, supportive spaces where they can build confidence, develop social skills and feel a sense of belonging. I enjoy helping them recognise their potential and providing the encouragement and guidance they need to flourish.
What difference do you see from the programme?
Seeing young people step outside their comfort zones, achieve things they didn’t think they could and develop greater confidence and self-belief is incredibly rewarding.
The best advice anyone gave you was…
“Your breath is life.” When you feel lost, return to your breath. It is always there—steady, constant and a place of safety.
