Southsea White Watch invited on-call teams to take part in some familiarisation visits and exercise relating to tall buildings procedures in Portsmouth on 16 and 24 March.
Teams from Alton, Bordon, Hayling Island, Horndean, Petersfield, Grayshot, Liphook and Emsworth took part in the two sessions and gained valuable training.
The training involved on-call teams being on stand by at Southsea and Cosham on a regular basis and having a better understanding of tall buildings procedures. The input centred around considerations on route, early information to control, familiarisation with high rise kit bags and equipment, dry riser inlets and outlets, lobby sector, fire sector set up of equipment and bridgehead.
