The new version of the popular Susie book is narrated by HIWFRS Education Officer Kelly Hedges who is joined in the video by a colourful selection of cuddly toys, helping to create a fun story-time setting for children everywhere.
Launched as part of the popular Keeping Safe with Susie the Childminder series, ‘Susie the Childminder and the Pandemic’ written by Donna Smith was published last July to teach children about the importance of community, building resilience, and staying safe, healthy, and positive during challenging times.
HIWFRS Education Manager Judy Rice said:
“We’re extremely proud of the Susie series and we hope that the new read-along video versions will be even more accessible, so the stories can be brought to life to educate and entertain even more children. There are plans to narrate other titles in the Susie series soon so look out for those too!”
The latest Susie book in the popular series is also featured on the national education platform StayWise , a free resource created by the nation’s emergency services in partnership with a range of national charities. ‘Susie the Childminder and the Pandemic’ was recently found to be the most popular download on the site demonstrating what a valuable education resource this is.
