Two residents treated for smoke inhalation following Southampton kitchen fire

Firefighters from across Southampton were called to a property on Foundry Lane after a fire had broken out.

Crews from Redbridge, St Mary’s and Eastleigh fire stations were called to the kitchen blaze at 17:32 yesterday evening (14 Dec).

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service provided Immediate Emergency Care to the occupants suffering from smoke inhalation before they were passed into the care of South Central Ambulance Service paramedics.

The fire was extinguished using two hose reel jets and one main jet, as firefighters wore four sets of breathing apparatus.

Ventilation fans were also in operation to clear smoke from the premises.

Crews returned to station shortly after the stop message at 18:38.
