Tango the New Forest Pony rescued from Cadnam ditch by HIWFRS firefighters
The owner of the 37-year-old pony found the animal cold and shivering down a steep ditch on a farm in Newbridge near Cadnam.
Firefighters from Redbridge were called at 8:09 this morning and were soon joined by animal rescue crews from Overton, Winchester and the HIWFRS Manitou vehicle.
A local vet was on hand to sedate the animal and administer painkillers before crews used the Manitou to lift Tango from the ditch.
With the animal successfully rescued and handed over to the vet and owner, HIWFRS left the scene at 11:30.
