Sprinkler successfully suppresses Fleet flat fire

A small fire in an electrical cupboard in Fleet was suppressed by the activation of a sprinkler system on Saturday.

Crews from Fleet and Rushmoor arrived on the scene at Rye Close to find the fire was already out.

A number of flats suffered water damage, but were saved from suffering the devastating effects of a fire due to the sprinkler, and a closed fire door prevented smoke escaping the flat.

Firefighters used ventilation fans to clear smoke and isolated the water and power supply before delivering community fire safety materials to neighbouring properties.

HIWFRS left the scene following the stop message at 16:12.
