Petersfield and Havant firefighters called to an overturned crane on A3

Firefighters were called to a road traffic collision this afternoon involving an overturned crane.

At around 3pm Petersfield and Havant crews were called to the northbound carriageway of the A3 between Petersfield and Liphook.

A heavy goods vehicle also suffered slight damage in the incident in which paramedics were called to treat one casualty for minor injuries.

As Hampshire Police and the Highways Agency closed the carriageway, HIWFRS firefighters worked to contain and clear up a hydraulic fluid leak.

Following the stop message at 16:47, firefighters left the scene.

The road is expected to remain closed for a number of hours to allow for the recovery of the crane.
