On-call crews battle Broxhead Common blaze in Bordon

On-call firefighters from Liphook and Bordon were alerted to a fire on Broxhead Common shortly after 8pm on Sunday evening.

The HIWFRS Control Room received multiple calls reporting trees alight.

Due to the difficult terrain the crews requested back-up from specialist Land Rover vehicles to support in extinguishing the blaze.

The firefighters made use of hose reels and beaters to stop the fire before they returned to station shortly after 9pm.​
