New Forest firefighters tackle stable blaze
New Milton, Beaulieu, Lymington and DWFRS crews were called to St Johns Road in New Milton at 16:37 yesterday afternoon after a controlled burn had spread to a nearby stable.
There were reports of explosions and a smoke plume which could be seen from a distance, before two horses were rescued from the building by members of the public, prior to the arrival of firefighters.
Two jets and four sets of breathing apparatus were used to extinguish the fire which destroyed the stable and damaged an overhead electricity cable.
Firefighters left the scene following the stop message at 18:52.
