Late night greenhouse blaze tackled by New Forest crews

New Forest firefighters were called out to a blaze involving a commercial greenhouse and nursery on Everton Road in Hordle.

Crews from Lymington, New Milton, Beaulieu and Dorset and Wiltshire FRS were sent to the scene at 21:55 last night (13 July).

The fire involving ISO containers was initially difficult to access due to its location, with specialist vehicles required to assist with the incident.

With live overhead power cables above the scene, HIWFRS requested that electricity company engineers attend.

The blaze was extinguished using two main jets, before crews made the scene safe and handed the incident over to Hampshire Police.

Firefighters returned to station following the stop message at 00.49.
