Large fire breaks out near to Yateley Common

A large gorse fire broke out this afternoon near Heathlands Cemetery in Yateley.

Crews from Yateley, Rushmoor and Surrey FRS were supported with specialist vehicles from Hartley Wintney and Fleet at around 1pm.

The quick-work from the firefighters first on the scene helped to prevent the fire from spreading out of control and allowed the crews to surround the blaze and begin dampening down.

Firefighters left the scene at around 4pm.
