HIWFRS crews extinguish a bedroom fire in high-rise building in Southampton

Crews from Hightown, St Mary’s, Redbridge, Eastleigh, Fareham and Southsea attended a fire in a 7th floor bedroom in a domestic high-rise building at 15:42 on Saturday (10th July).

2 jets plus 2 breathing apparatus were used to extinguish the fire. It was extinguished at 16:09, and crews then completed salvage.

Southampton City Council were notified and attended to follow up this incident.

As an additional precaution, crews have carried out safety activities in the nearby properties.
