Firefighters worked quickly to stop a fire involving hedgerows and crops from spreading.
Crews from Newport and on-call station Freshwater were called to Brook Village Road in Brighstone at 19:18.
They used jets and the farmer’s water bowser to put the fire out. An area of approximately 150m by 100m was damaged.
All crews had left by 20:35.
