Firefighters called to spilt milk at Fleet Services!
A leaky milk tanker saw crews called to Fleet Services at around 7pm last night.
Firefighters from Fleet, Odiham, Rushmoor and the Alton environmental protection unit arrived to find a split in the sealant beneath the tanker, allowing a significant amount of milk to leak out.
The flow of the leak was stemmed with putty as firefighters also used specialist mats to stop the spilt liquid from entering the drainage system and nearby water courses, to protect the environment.
The already leaked milk was contained within a water dam, before it was eventually collected and taken away.
Police helped to manage the scene as the northbound service station was closed to HGVs.
A road sweeper was brought in to clean the affected area before firefighters left the scene following the stop message at 1:19am.
