Firefighters Battle Flat Blaze in Southampton

Southampton firefighters swiftly responded to a fire in a flat on Woods Close, Southampton, following an alert from the HIWFRS Control Room shortly after 7:30 pm.

Equipped with breathing apparatus, crews entered the second-floor property, combating the blaze using an aerial platform and jets. Smoke was later cleared using high-powered ventilation fans.

Three individuals were treated for smoke inhalation by paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service.

Crews from Hightown and St Mary’s stations returned to base after the stop message was issued at 10:20pm.

The cause of the fire is unknown and will be investigated
