Burst pipe evacuates 50 homes in Basingstoke
At 05:22 we received multiple calls from Trinidad Close, reporting water was in properties. A water mains burst pipe has flooded around 50 homes in total.
A joint effort from Police and crews from Basingstoke led by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council’s emergency planning team, have safely evacuated all residents.

Also affected by the burst pipe are garages on Malta Close, homes on Falkland Road and there is a large flood on Carpenters Down Road.
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council’s emergency planning opened Popley Fields Community Centre for all those evacuated and the local authority has started repairs. The community centre has now been closed.
Firefighters left the scene and returned to station following the stop message at 08:26.
