Basingstoke crews rescue man from flat fire in the early of hours of Saturday morning
Three engines and a command support vehicle were called to the ground-floor flat on Shetland Road at 4:13.
Firefighters arrived to a smell of burning in the property, and a resident within the affected flat.
Crews made entry and rescued the occupant before treating him with Immediate Emergency Care and passed him into the care of ambulance service paramedics.
The alarm was caused by unattended cooking causing heavy smoke logging throughout the flat.
The blaze was extinguished using two sets of breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and ventilation fans.
HIWFRS conducted community safety reassurance visits to neighbouring flats before returning to station at 5:10.
