The fire is now out. A reinspection of the site will happen later this evening to check for hotspots

We currently have six fire engines, two water carriers and one off road vehicle at this incident.
Our firefighters have worked hard in hot and arduous conditions and have made good progress to surround the fire.
We are likely to remain in attendance for the rest of the day as we dampen down hotspots
Can people please continue to avoid the area as we work to resolve this incident.

Our firefighters remain on scene at this incident.
We are seeing a number of dog walkers and runners within the area of the incident and ask that people avoid the area due to smoke and dust and to enable us to carry out our firefighting operations.
If you live in the local area and smell smoke please close windows and doors
We expect to be on site for most of the day.

Firefighters are currently tackling a large fire in woodland at Hawley Lakes, Blackwater. The fire is surrounded but it is deep seated so crews will remains on scene for a number of hours.
We ask that you avoid the area due to smoke and to allow the fire crews to carry out their firefighting operations.
