Fire crews tackle significant fire involving properties in Holbury
Fire Update – Fire Now Out (10 August)
The stop message was received shortly after midnight, following a significant fire involving a garden and hedgerow at a property on Rollestone Road, Holbury. The fire spread to two vehicles in a driveway and subsequently to two adjoining bungalows.
Both vehicles were completely destroyed, along with sections of hedgerow and fencing. Both bungalows also suffered significant damage, including roof collapses.
Firefighters returned to the scene this afternoon to carry out re-inspections and damped down remaining hotspots. A further inspection is expected to take place this evening to ensure the area remains safe.
A joint police and fire service investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.

Firefighters have continued to tackle the significant fire involving two bungalows on Rollestone Road, Holbury.
An aerial platform has been used to attack the fire from above, with crews working to contain the incident and prevent further spread. Both properties have suffered significant damage, including roof collapses.
The fire has now been surrounded by crews, with firefighting operations expected to continue throughout the night and into the early hours. Firefighters are expected to remain at the scene during this time to monitor the incident and deal with any remaining hotspots.
A joint fire and police investigation will take place on Monday to establish the cause of the fire.

Fire in Holbury – Initial Incident Update (9 August)
Crews are currently dealing with a significant fire involving two bungalows on Rollestone Road, Holbury.
The fire initially involved a hedgerow at a property, before spreading to two vehicles in a driveway and subsequently to two adjoining bungalows. Crews are working to prevent any further spread of the fire and bring the incident under control.
Firefighters from Hightown, Portchester, Totton, Gosport and Fareham are in attendance, supported by colleagues from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Crews are using multiple hoses and jets, together with an aerial platform, to tackle the fire.
Residents in the surrounding area are advised to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke. The public are asked to avoid the area where possible, and to keep the road clear to allow emergency service vehicles to access the incident.
