Luffy the dog rescued from Totton flat fire

Crews from Redbridge, Eastleigh and Hightown were alerted shortly after midday yesterday (18 Aug) to the incident on Commercial Road.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, entered the property, rescuing Luffy before extinguishing the fire with hose reel jets.

Ventilation fans were used to clear smoke, before firefighters delivered fire prevention messaging to nearby addresses.

Crews left the scene following the stop message at one o’clock.

The next day (19 Aug), Luffy and his owners visited Eastleigh Fire Station to meet their new heroes, who were able to stop for a quick photo whilst they were clearing up the hose used at the A31 fire.
