A dog was rescued from a flat fire in Totton this afternoon

Crews from Redbridge, Eastleigh and Hightown were alerted shortly after midday to the incident on Commercial Road.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, entered the property, rescuing the dog before extinguishing the fire with hose reel jets.

Ventilation fans were used to clear smoke, before firefighters delivered fire prevention messaging to nearby addresses.

Crews left the scene following the stop message at one o’clock.
