Crews tackle fire at Bagshot Moor

A stop message has been received and crews are now leaving the scene. Approximately 15 hectares of gorse and heathland have been destroyed.

The fire is now under control, with around 40 firefighters currently on scene. We expect to scale down our response shortly.
Initial Incident Information:
Firefighters are currently tackling a large fire at Bagshot Moor, East Boldre.
We were alerted to the blaze at 5pm, after the HIWFRS Control Room received multiple emergency calls.
Crews from Eastleigh, New Milton, Ringwood, Burley, Hythe, Beaulieu, Hardley, Lymington and Dorset & Wiltshire FRS are currently on the scene. The affected area is estimated to be around 15 hectares.
Residents have been advised to keep windows and doors closed due to the presence of smoke in the vicinity.
