Large fire in the open in off Hammer Lane, Headley

We currently have two off road vehicles on site carrying out inspections and damping down hotspots.

Firefighters have been using beaters, hose reels and off road vehicles to tackle the fire. It is likely that we will remain on scene overnight with a reduced presence.

We are in attendance at a large fire in the open in off Hammer Lane, Headley.

Firefighters from Hampshire alongside colleagues at Surrey FRS are tackling the blaze which is currently believed to be affecting around 3 hectares of heathland and woodland.

People in the surrounding area are advised to close windows and doors due to smoke.

There are multiple vehicles on scene including specialist wildfire vehicles, 4x4s and a water carrier.
