Around fifty firefighters tackled a blaze involving multiple vehicles within a greenhouse on Romsey Road in Ower.

Alerted at around half ten on Thursday evening, crews from Totton, Romsey, Eastleigh and Redbridge quickly arrived on the scene and began fighting the fire with hose reels and jets.

Fortunately, there were no injuries caused by the fire.

Further fire engines from St Mary’s, Hightown, Botley, Lyndhurst and Bishop’s Waltham were mobilised to help tackle the blaze.

Specialist vehicles from Beaulieu, Ringwood, Portchester and Alton, as well as the Incident Command Unit, also attended.

Fire engines were strategically moved to stand-by on stations in the surrounding area to ensure sufficient cover is provided.

The incident was scaled down overnight with one fire engine remaining in the morning, checking for remaining hotspots.

Fire investigation officers are set to attend the scene along with police investigators to establish the cause of the blaze.
