If the answer to these questions is ‘yes’ then you may be able to help the Fire and Rescue Authority by acting as an ‘Independent Person’.
The Authority is seeking to appoint two Independent Persons who must be able to demonstrate a high level of personal integrity and a commitment to equality, inclusion and diversity, whilst also having an appreciation of the ethical standards required of persons holding public office. It is important to be able to provide clear thinking, make objective and reasoned judgements, and be impartial
An annual allowance of £112, plus travel expenses will be payable. The appointments are likely to be for up to four years.
Please note that you cannot be appointed if you are, or have been within the last 5 years, a Member, Co-opted Member or Officer of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Authority, or if you are a relative or close friend of any such person. You must be aged 18 or over.
