How to contact usI completed a degree in Drama and Theatre Studies in 2007 and then had a bit of a change of career direction. I worked for the ambulance service in the control room before joining fire control in 2009. I have worked my way up through the ranks and am currently the Watch Manager on Red Watch.
I love my job – you never know what incidents you are going to be dealing with and to manage the logistics of fire cover and resourcing incidents can be challenging but rewarding.
I do a lot of work within my Fire Brigades Union role and am currently the national women’s secretary. This role involves a number of things but primarily making things better for women in the fire service.
My work at HIWFRS has been varied and rewarding. I have learnt a lot in a relatively short space of time.
