Woman treated for burns following Bevois Valley house fire
Firefighters from St Mary’s were called to a ground floor property fire on Cedar Road in Bevois Valley just after 1pm.
Crews arrived to find smoke issuing from the terraced house, and one casualty already outside who required treatment from HIWFRS for burns to her arms before she was handed into the care of South Central Ambulance Service paramedics.
Firefighters tackled the blaze using two sets of breathing apparatus, one jet, two hose reels and ventilation fans to clear smoke.
The lounge room, where the fire broke out, was destroyed by the blaze, which caused significant smoke damage throughout the rest of property.
HIWFRS remained on the scene to deliver post-incident reassurance messaging and conduct Safe and Well visits to neighbouring houses before leaving the scene at 14:41.
