Two casualties treated for smoke inhalation following Southampton flat blaze
Firefighters from across Southampton were alerted to a fire within a flat in Wyndham Court on Commercial Road by the HIWFRS Control Room shortly before 11am.
Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters entered the building to tackle the third-floor fire using jets, before clearing smoke with ventilation fans.
Two casualties were treated for smoke inhalation by South Central Ambulance Service paramedics.
The initial indications suggest the fire was caused by smoking materials, but investigations are ongoing.
Crews from St Mary’s, Redbridge, Hightown and Eastleigh returned to station following the stop message shortly after midday.
