On-call crew assist rescue of bird from Fleet Pond
On-call firefighters from Fleet were called to Fleet Pond at 18:23 on 22 March to assist RSPCA officers.
A Black-headed Gull was trapped hanging upside-down by its wing from a tree on an island in the pond.
The crew were there to provide lighting equipment and ensure safety, as the bird was retrieved.
The gull was left with the RSPCA who were set to monitor the animal overnight before being released.
HIWFRS left the scene and returned to station following the stop message at 20:31.
