Three dogs and one cat sadly die in Havant house fire

Firefighters were called to a house fire in Havant in which a number of pets sadly died.

The first-floor bedroom of a property on Bondfields Crescent was well-alight when Havant, Cosham, Portchester and Emsworth crews arrived.

The occupants were already out of the property and treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation, the three casualties were later taken onto hospital.

Three dogs and one cat sadly died in the fire as a number of other pets were treated for smoke inhalation by the HIWFRS Animal Rescue Advisor, RSPCA and a local vet also on the scene.

The fire was stopped using eight sets of breathing apparatus, two hose reels, two jets and tactical ventilation fans to clear smoke, prior to HIWFRS crews leaving the scene at 08:20.
