Southampton firefighters called out to chemical incident caused by hot tub
Fire crews from Hightown, Botley and Redbridge were sent to a property on Stirling Crescent in Hedge End last night to investigate a possible hazardous material incident.
Further specialist vehicles from Winchester, Eastleigh and Romsey were also called after a family of three reported they were suffering, having been exposed to chemicals in their property.
The casualties, who were conscious and breathing, were treated by South Central Ambulance Service paramedics, before they were taken to hospital for further assessment.
The property, which had been cordoned off, was investigated by HIWFRS, who found that the alarm was caused by Chlorine gas from a hot tub.
Crews used positive pressure ventilation fans to clear the gas from the property before conducting Safe and Well visits at neighbouring houses.
HIWFRS left the scene at 22:19.
