Roof destroyed in Basingstoke house blaze

Basingstoke and Hartley Wintney crews were called at 19:19 to a semi-detached property on Morley Road where a fire had broken out in the loft space.

One casualty was provided with Immediate Emergency Care by crews.

The stop came in at 23:02 after the fire had been extinguished using the aerial ladder platform, breathing apparatus, hose reels, jets and ventilation fans.

The roof was fully destroyed in the blaze with the first-floor suffering 50% damage.

One crew returned in the night to conduct a reinspection to ensure there were no remaining hotspots.
