Bisterne barn blaze tackled by Hampshire and Dorset crews

A barn fire at a farm on Dragon Lane, Bisterne prompted a combined fire service response this afternoon.

Crews from Ringwood and Fordingbridge were called at 15:07 and were joined by firefighters from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service to extinguish a fire involving two barns well alight.

The barns contained approximately 25 tonnes of straw, which fuelled the fire, but fortunately, no persons or animals were involved.

More than 35 firefighters were on the scene, working with the farmer to control the burn.

The stop message came in at 22:25 after the incident had been scaled back and firefighters had dampened down the scene using jets and hose reels.
