Rescue at Portchester Castle: Firefighters Save Man After 15-Foot Fall into Moat

 

firefighters rushed to the historic Portchester Castle just before 7 p.m. on Sunday evening after a man fell 15 feet from a bridge into the castle’s moat,

Crews from Porchester, Fareham, Cosham, and Eastleigh worked quickly to reach the man, navigating challenging conditions. Using ladders and specialised safety equipment, they carefully lifted him from the moat.

After the successful rescue, the man was handed into the care of South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS).

Firefighters left the scene shortly before 8 p.m.
