One dog sadly died following a chalet chip pan blaze

One dog died following a chip pan blaze at a chalet on the Sandy Balls estate in Godshill.

Fordingbridge, Ringwood and a DWFRS crew were alerted shortly before 6pm yesterday evening.

Smoke and flames were issuing as crews arrived on the scene with the building significantly damaged in the blaze.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus entered the property to remove the dog which had sadly died.

One casualty was given Immediate Emergency Care by firefighters and treated for smoke inhalation.

Jets and hose reels were used to stop the fire before ventilation fans cleared the smoke.

The stop message came in at 19:40 with one crew set to return to conduct a reinspection and check for remaining hot spots.
