Multiple fire engines called to early-morning Whiteley warehouse fire
Fire crews from across Hampshire were sent to tackle an early-morning blaze at a Whiteley warehouse.
At the height of the incident eight fire engines, five support vehicles and an aerial ladder were in attendance, after smoke could be seen coming from the shutter doors of the building in Solent Way at 04:40 today (20 December).
Firefighters were faced with heavy smoke logging throughout the building and used main jets to put out a fire on the first-floor mezzanine.
Ventilation fans were used to clear smoke and the incident was scaled down from around 9am with the stop message received at 09:40.
