Multiple crews tackle farm blaze in Sutton Scotney

17:25 Monday 15 April:

Firefighters were called to a fire at a farm in Norton, Sutton Scotney this evening.

Crews from Whitchurch, Winchester, Andover, Eastleigh and Rushmoor attended, along with specialist vehicles and an aerial platform ladder from Basingstoke.

The call came in just before 5pm, reporting a fire that engulfed 2,000 timber boxes and spread to an adjacent barn. Fortunately, no farm animals were inside the barn at the time of the incident.

We are scaling down our response at the scene, with minimum crews remaining who are damping down and dealing with hotspots.

Three jets, two hose reels, an aerial platform, and on-site machinery were used to extinguish the fire.
