More than 45 firefighters tackled Denmead shop fire
Crews from Cosham, Havant, Waterlooville, St Mary’s, Fareham and Southsea were called to the scene on Hambledon Road in Denmead at around half one this afternoon.
Support vehicles from Eastleigh, Beaulieu and Alton were also in attendance along with the aerial ladder.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the roof fire using jets and hose reels.
Ventilation fans were in operation to clear smoke from the building.
Local residents were advised to avoid the area.
The incident was scaled down to two fire engines before the stop message came in at around 4pm.
