Light Aircraft Incident Near Bembridge
Firefighters from Newport and Ryde were called out shortly before 2:30pm on Saturday, 12 April, following reports of a light aircraft incident near Bembridge.
Upon arrival, crews found that the aircraft had suffered extensive damage from the impact and subsequent fire. Fortunately, all occupants had safely exited the aircraft before emergency services arrived.
Two individuals sustained minor injuries and were treated by paramedics at the scene. Firefighters used a hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.
Fire crews made the scene and returned to their stations following the stop message at 3:45pm.
