Large area of grassland involved in fire near Rowlands Castle
Firefighters were called to a large grass fire off Treadwheel Road, Idsworth, after a member of the public reported seeing an out of control bonfire.
Around three hectares of grassland was alight and firefighters used hose reel jets to surround the fire and put it out.
Crews from Horndean, Havant, Cosham, Fareham, Liphook, Eastleigh, Portchester and an incident command unit were in attendance following the 999 call at just before 15:30.
The incident was scaled down just after 17:20 with one fire engine remaining on the scene until 21:00 to dampen down.
