Kingsclere crew work with RBFRS to tackle tractor and grassland blaze
On-call firefighters from Kingsclere worked with neighbours across the border in Berkshire in tackling a tractor fire which spread to the surrounding heathland yesterday afternoon.
Shortly after midday Kingsclere joined a Newbury crew at the incident in Hamstead Marshall.
The tractor was destroyed in the blaze which then spread to damage half a hectare of heathland.
Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters used hose reels and jets to extinguish the fire and dampen down the grass.
