Isle of Wight heavy rain and flooding
The HIWFRS Control Room has received a large number of calls this morning (Wednesday 25 October) as a result of the heavy rain and flooding.
During this busy time we have prioritised our response based on risk. Where resources are not deployed, Control Room operators have offered advice on dealing with flooding and provided contact details for where callers can get further help, including floodline and the local council.
We have attended a number of incidents to assist people stranded in their cars in flood water. Please don’t drive through flood water, turn back and find an alternative route.
