Boat destroyed by fire on river in Lymington

On-call firefighters from Lymington and Brockenhurst were alerted to the boat blaze shortly before 3pm.
Two people on board were rescued by a passing vessel on the river as a significant amount smoke began emanating from the boat.
Crews arrived at the slipway on Lymington Harbour before working with Coastguard teams to access to boat which was well alight.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze using jets but the boat had already suffered significant damage.
The two people who were on board were cleared of any injuries before HIWFRS left the scene and returned to station following the stop message at 16:25.
