Isle of Wight crews extinguish blaze affecting two gardens
Crews were mobilised to a fire in the back gardens of two neighbouring domestic homes, after 11 calls alerting Control at 00:44 this morning.
Crews from Newport, Ryde, East Cowes and Shanklin extinguished the blaze that involved two sheds situated behind the two terraced homes on Alvington Manor View, Carisbrooke.
The fire affected the façade of five residential properties but did not spread to the inside of the homes.
Incident Commander, Sean Harrison notes:
“Due to the great and fast work from crews, the fire spread only within the garden areas, affecting the outbuilding sheds, and did not reach the inside of the terraced properties nearby.
I want to thank our crews for their fast and effective work to avoid fire spread this evening.”
Crews used one main jet, two hose reel and eight sets of breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire. No persons were involved.
