Hampshire firefighters fought a bungalow blaze near Andover last night

Crews from Whitchurch, Andover, Sutton Scotney, Basingstoke and Overton were alerted to the blaze in St Mary Bourne at around half 10 yesterday evening.

The roof of the building was heavily damaged in the fire which was stopped with jets and hose reels.

Relief crews from St Mary’s, Rushmoor and Odiham continued to dampen down the scene overnight before Whitchurch firefighters returned to conduct a number of reinspection.

Firefighters returned to station following the stop message at 7:37.

Fire investigation officers attended the scene in the morning to establish the cause of the blaze.
