Hampshire and Surrey firefighters called to Farnborough house blaze

A first-floor property fire on Beta Road broke out at around 15:40 this afternoon, with no casualties involved.

Around thirty firefighters from Yateley, Rushmoor and Surrey FRS were quickly on the scene, along with the aerial ladder platform from Basingstoke.

The building was well alight and smoke was issuing with the fire having already spread to the roof as crews arrived.

Police officers were in attendance to control traffic, as fire crews used jets, hose reels, six sets of breathing apparatus and tactical ventilation fans to clear smoke and extinguish the blaze.

Crews began leaving the scene following the stop message at 17:23, with a planned reinspection set for this evening to check for any remaining hotspots.
